Spa Etiquette

ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN:

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment begins. You will be asked to relax and fill out a brief consultation form which allows your therapist to customize the massage to your needs.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR ALLERGIES

Please share any medical conditions or allergies. We will tailor the massage lotion and oils based on this information.

PREGNANCY

Congratulations! We will be so happy to provide a massage to you during your second and third trimester only.

CANCELLATION REQUEST

Please honor our 24-hour cancellation policy to avoid a full 100% penalty charge. If your plan needs to change, we understand. Communicating to us in advance allows us to be prepared for our guests and our therapists. Thank you.

GRATUITY

Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. The act of giving a good massage is very physical. We recommend you think of your massage therapist as you would a waiter in a restaurant. They love what they do and your tip should reflect your appreciation for their service. Tipping percentages should be based on the full price of a regular massage.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST MASSAGE?

From the spa lobby, your therapist will escort you to your own private therapeutic massage room.  All of our massage rooms have dim lighting and soft soothing music playing in the background, which helps you to relax. Your therapist will talk with you about your needs from the massage. The therapist will step out of the room allowing you to undress to your desired level of comfort and relax onto the massage table. There will be fresh blankets and sheets provided on the table. You will remain properly draped during the entire session to keep you warm and comfortable. Often, a light lotion or oil will be applied to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin.

When your massage is complete, your therapist will leave the room and allow you some time to get dressed. Your therapist will then provide you with water and make a professional recommendation for your return visit.

Your massage should feel relaxing if you chose a Swedish Massage or stress reducing if you chose a Deep Tissue Massage. Massage is performed with either oil or lotion to reduce friction on your skin.

WHEN SHOULD I GET A MASSAGE?

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to wait until you are stressed or injured to get a massage. Any time is a good time for a massage. Massage is like a health-supplement or preventative care for a person's body and mind. A regular massage is a great way to cope with physical or emotional stress and to keep it from causing discomfort or harm to your body.
